New testing requirements will be effective for government workers from Thursday.

Civil servants will be asked work from home until January 27, the government announced.

Hong Kong on Moonday added 107 coronavirus patients, mostly locals. It was highest number of infections in nearly a month.

From Thursday, January 21, if a government worker is confirmed to have the coronavirus infection, all staff working on the same floor and those who have worked with the staffer, despite not being on the same floor, must undergo testing as soon as possible within a prescribed period, the government also said. They are also required to work from home until their testing results are confirmed negative.
