Health & frontline workers to be vaccinated first: Dr Jayant Panda

Bhubaneswar: The Health workers and frontline warriors will be vaccinated against COVID-19 in the first phase, said Dr Jayant Panda, Head of SCB medicine department.

Dr Panda said the families of the health workers will not be included in the first phase. He said it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that the health workers are protected first.

Dr Panda said registration is mandatory for COVID-19 vaccination. The concerned person will get a text message on their mobile phone mentioning details of the date and venue of vaccination upon registration.

The person has to furnish identity card at the venue to get the vaccine dose, he said and added after 28 days the second dose will be administered.

Dr Panda said the COVID vaccine is safe and added that the Indian drug controller has passed the vaccine for use after studying its efficaciousness minutely.
