What was the driving force for Viet Nam to achieve the growth rate of 2.91 per cent in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic? There were two basic factors helping Viet Nam achieve the GDP growth rate of 2.91 per cent in 2020. Yet, this rate was the lowest in the country’s five-year plan from 2016-2020. However, in the context of the pandemic, this growth rate is a remarkable achievement. First, it is attributed to Viet Nam’s success in the fight the pandemic and the Government’s role. When the first coronavirus case was detected on January 23, Viet Nam took various measures with the goal of stopping transmission of the virus to the whole country.
