The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) has announced that on January 4, 2021, Dr. Felix Cabrera joined the DPHSS team as a Physician Specialist who will serve as the Chief Medical Officer.
“Dr. Cabrera has been instrumental in leading the fight against COVID-19. From advising the Governor based on scientific evidence, to analyzing data, to being at the front lines of the pandemic, we welcome Dr. Cabrera’s knowledge and medical expertise as he joins our team in our response to the COVID-19 crisis,” said Art San Agustin, DPHSS Director in a news release.
“We would also like to thank Dr. Chris Dombrowski for stepping up during a crucial time in our pandemic response to serve as our interim medical director. We are grateful to him for his service,” San Agustin said.
Dr. Cabrera said: “It is an honor to officially join the incredible team at DPHSS. I look forward to working closely with them, as well as learning so much from them. I hope the variety of clinical and operational work I have done in my medical career will prove useful.”
By joining DPHSS, Dr. Cabrera will be leaving his full-time position at GRMC, however, he will maintain his hospital privileges.
