An 82-year-old man has become the first to receive the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in Britain’s second COVID-19 inoculation campaign. The United Kingdom has secured 100 million doses of the Oxford University vaccine and will now begin a nationwide rollout. Approximately 53,000 jabs are being immediately distributed to six hospital trusts in Oxford, Sussex, Lancashire, Warwickshire and two in London. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was rolled out on December 8 and more than one million people have already received the first of two doses.
